Our learn to skate lessons are specifically designed for beginners. These start skaters off with the basics of skating and get them skating on their own with the proper skating techniques right from the beginning. These skating lessons are designed for tots, children, teens and adults that are learning how to skate. These skating lessons are perfect for skaters that want to learn on their own or for parents that want to help teach their children how to skate on their own in Brant.

Figure Skating

For skaters that have already completed the learn to skate program or who are able to already skate on their own, we offer Junior Figure Skating programs for those that are interesting in continuing on to learning this. These programs are offered by certified figure skating coaches in Brant and are designed to introduce skaters to figure skating and is a program for beginner figure skaters.

Power Skating

We offer power skating programs for skaters that have completed the learn to skate program or can skate well on their own and are interesting in pursuing hockey. These skating classes in Brant are taught by cerified power skating and hockey coaches. Power skating lessons are designed to give skaters that are new to hockey or looking to improve their skills in skating the basics for power skating and hockey.

Junior Figure Skating

For girls interested in advanced learn to skate, learn to figure skate and advancing to the Glittering Stars Figure Skating program, we offer the Junior Figure Skating program. These classes are for girls in an after school program format, 6 hours a week, between the ages of 8 and 13 with no previous skating experience or level requirements. During this program skaters are fast tracked on learn to skate, introduced to figure skating skills, technical workbook activities and off-ice conditioning. All of the figure skating lessons and classes are held indoors on our artificial ice surface in Brant and coached by certified figure skating coaches with years of experience. In order to join a Junior Figure Skating class, you must complete a membership and then you will be contacted for an assessment and registration. Students come into the Junior Figure Skating program as skaters and leave as Glittering Stars!

Glittering Stars - Figure Skating Academy

Glittering Stars is our professional figure skating school that is offered for those skaters that have been successfully completed the Junior Figure Skating Program. During this program skaters will have the opportunity to complete the Star 1 through 5 tests, learn team skating and aquire leadership skills through program assisting the tots learn to skate classes. This program is a pre-competitive program that allows skaters to go onto competitions, become assistant coaches and acquire credit for education.

This program is offered in a skating day camp format, 9 hours a week, for girls in Junior High and Secondary School between the ages of 11 and 16. All of our figure skating programs and classes are taught on our indoor artificial ice surface which is open and available all year round by our certified figure skating coaches with years of experience.

1. What kind of helmet do I or my child need?
It is recommended to only go skating with a CSA approved skating helmet.

2. Is there coaching support provided?
Yes. Once you purchase your skating lesson videos, you will be given an account you can access. From there you can request an evaluation and feedback to assist you from one of our coaches.

3. How long does it take to learn to skate?
Everyone is different, but your or your child should be able to get going on their own within a couple of months.

4. How many skating lessons should I buy?
This is a personal preference and depends on how far you want to take your skating. Each lesson describes what it is intended to help you accomplish.

5. What if I have more than one child?
When you regsiter for an account, you can only have one child per account. However, you can use these lessons for anyone that you would like to share it with.

6. Where can I go to skate?
You will have to find a location in Brant that is convenient for you to go skating. These locations usually include indoor skating rinks with public skating sessions in Brant scheduleed throughout the year, outdoor public skating rinks that are open in the winter. Then in the summer there are usually synthetic skating rinks that are open where you can go skating.

• Step 1 - Buy the skating lessons that you would like to have. You will then be given access to your account that you can login to. From here you will be able to watch your skating videos, request evaluations, track your skill progression and purchase additional skating lessons.
• Step 2 - Watch the skating lesson videos that you have purchased. Learn and prepare for the things that you will be doing when you go on the ice in Brant.
• Step 3 - Find a skating rink that you go to in Brant and get the change to try to learn the things that were taught in the skating lesson video.
• Step 4 - Once you have had a change to go to a skating dink in Brant and learn the skating lessons that you or your child was taught you can then login to your account and request an evaluation. You can then submit a video of you or your child skating and a skating coach will then review this, evaluate it and give you feedback on the progress.
