About Glittering Stars![]() Skaters in the Intermediate Figure Skating Program belong to Skate Toronto’s Glittering Stars Private Figure Skating School. The Intermediate Figure Skating program is for skaters that are interested in learning all of the required skating skills and FreeSkate elements for recreational figure skating or as a pre-preparation for the Senior Figure Skating Program. Intermediate Figure Skating ProgramIn the Intermediate Figure Skating Program skaters are coached in a small group by their principal skating coach. During these lessons skaters focus on stroking, skating skills, jumps, spins and field movements. ![]() Intermediate Figure Skating Program EligibilityIn order to be eligible for this program a skater must be no less than 8 years of age, have completed the Junior program (or it’s equivalent), have good work ethics, demonstrate a motivation and ability to making achievements, and must be willing to participate in and attend the minimum required hours of the program each season. Skaters may only be admitted into the Intermediate Figure Skating program by application and by meeting the eligibility requirements. ![]() ![]() Intermediate Figure Skating Program Skater EvaluationThis program is divided into six levels, FreeSkate I through FreeSkate VI. During the season the Principal Skating Coach of the Intermediate Figure Skating Program will evaluate the skaters in all five of the focused components of program. At the end of each season skaters receive a report card detailing their progress. |
